Is Your Major Right for You?

Q: I think I’m in the wrong Major. What’s the right major for me?
A: There is more than one major that could be right for you.  Career testing can highlight different possibilities.

Q: I’m not happy with my major. What should I do?
A: Speak with a career counsellor to look at your options either within your current major or in choosing another.

Q: I don’t like the courses I’m taking. What does it mean?
A: You could be in the wrong major or your interest could be dropping for another reason. Speak with a career counsellor.

Q: I have a lot of interests and I don’t know which one to pursue.
A: A career counsellor can help you decide which interests you most want to use in your potential career but they can also work creatively with you to group your interests into exciting new career possibilities.

Q: I have an idea of what career I would like. How do I get there?
A: There are particular steps involved in career planning. Your career counsellor can assess where you are in this process and help you on your career path.

Q: I know what program to apply to, but don’t know where or how to apply.
A: The Career Resource Center (H-440) at Counselling and Development can be a valuable resource for selecting the programs and schools you want to apply to. On hand, CRC librarians can also help you with this research.
